How much do you know about Noah and the generations who lived before the Flood?
Years ago, I was perhaps just like you. I’d read through Genesis and knew the story of Noah and the Ark, which was about it.
Until one day on a whim, (back in 2003) I opened my Bible and asked God to inspire, me as I stuck my finger on a page and read Genesis 8:20: ‘Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.’
I wondered, ‘Who taught Noah how to do that?’ Instantly I wanted to know who was alive when Noah was alive. That simple question launched me on an incredible, eye-opening, faith-building, seven-year study journey to discover everything I could about the life and times of Noah and about the generations of Adam who lived before and after the flood.
I took out a sheet of graph paper and started laying out a lifespan lifeline for each patriarch, from Adam to Abraham. Finally, I could see these were fathers and sons who lived concurrently with one another, including with Noah, for hundreds of years.
It’s about Noah! It’s about his life, his unique calling to save mankind and earth’s animals, and it’s about the message he has for us today.
